Educating your child at home
You have the legal right to educate your child at home, either full-time or part-time. This is known as home education in the UK - sometimes called elective home education (EHE) or home schooling. You have a responsibility to make sure your child recieves a suitable education from the compulsory school age (CSA) of five, until they finish, which is around 16 - read more info on the GOV website. You don’t need to be a teacher, follow the National Curriculum, or have any special qualifications. What matters is that your child receives a suitable full-time education for their age, ability, and needs.
